About this location

The Tilburg site is one of Attero's four active landfills. This landfill site is the central landfill for non-flammable and/or non-recyclable waste from the province of North Brabant and surrounding areas.

The site also has an anaerobic digestion and composting plant for biowaste and waste material from the food, drink and tobacco industry. The biogas produces is upgraded at an in-house facility to reach natural gas quality that is supplied to the regional gas grid as green gas.

At the transfer station and present buffer, combustible waste from the province of North Brabant is stored and transferred for processing in our waste-to-energy plants. The site also composts green waste and features a soil bank/cleaning facility.

The landfill at the Tilburg is side features bottom sealing and a network for extracting landfill gas released from the landfill. This landfill gas, along with the biogas from anaerobic digestion, is upgraded to reach natural gas quality and supplied to the regional gas grid. A tunnel runs underneath part of the landfill, which is used to monitor the wastewater disposal system and discharge the wastewater from the landfill body. This wastewater is treated with wastewater from the digester and externally supplied wastewater at the in-house water treatment plant.
