2 million tonnes of waste has been landfilled at this site. The environmental permit allows for the landfilling of an additional 650,000 tonnes. For that reason, the landfill is not fully covered with a final cover layer yet. The greater part has a temporary cover layer. Rainwater is collected in basins at the landfill and can be discharged to the surface water after being monitored. Monitoring of groundwater quality is performed through measurements via a network of monitoring drains underneath and monitoring well pipes near the landfill.

Contaminated water from the landfill is collected and disposed of for treatment at the adjacent sewage treatment plant. Landfill gas is extracted from the landfill, which is supplied to the sewage treatment plant, where it is converted into energy and heat in a gas engine along with biogas from the Water Board's sludge digester.
