About this location

Attero manages this sealed landfill, which is fully fitted out with a final top seal. The final top seal was finished in 2011. The sand that was excavated during the construction of the landfill was reused to seal the landfill. Landfill gas is recovered from the approximately 1.6 million tonnes of waste stored here. The landfill gas is turned into energy by a landfill gas engine (WKK). The waste water still released is treated in our own water treatment plant at the Bergen op Zoom site.
